This course will teach you how to professionally prepare the eyes, apply individual eyelash extensions and safe removal techniques. Maintenance and aftercare will be discussed to fully prepare you for delivery of this service.
Once you book your place you will receive a booking confirmation containing your online account details so you can start the course straight away. This will enable you to start learning the theory at your own pace, and prepare you for the practical day at the School. We have a high success rate for students, so rest assured that we will provide you with all the support you need to pass your diploma/VRQ. Our course is accredited by the beauty guild making it an insurable certificate which allows you to use this treatment on the general public and charge for this therapy. This course is open to complete beginners or existing therapists, no previous experience required to attend. We provide everything for training but KIT not included
Once you have completed your Diploma course, your qualification material will be added to your elearning account. You will print out the relevant documents and create your portfolio. At UKBS, we use an independent learning structure so that you are able to work at your own pace, around your current commitments. You will work through the following at home to build your knowledge, skills, timings and confidence:
During this time you will have access to our NVQ Coordinator who can be contacted for any help, assistance or guidance.
Once the above has been completed, you would then return to the school to complete your live assessments and paper test/s. These will be spread across a minimum of 2 days and will take place at the site that you completed your Diploma. When attending your assessment days you must wear a full beauty uniform or all black with enclosed shoes, short, natural nails (gel polish is fine but no extensions). You must bring your completed portfolio and something to write with. You must provide your own models which should be arranged according to the ranges that you need to complete in your qualification. For most units, 3 different models are required (however some require 4 or 5 – please contact the NVQ Coordinator if unsure). If you are completing multiple units, you would follow this structure for each unit.
Training for all courses takes place at our Beauty Schools based in either:
Chatham, Kent - Parking opposite in Union Square Pay & Display (Behind GALA Bingo)
Rainham, Essex/Surrey - Paid parking - payment can be made by coin or card and details of the Pay-By-Phone App will be provided clearly on the machines. The new system uses automatic number plate recognition technology so there is no requirement to display the receipts provided by the pay machines in vehicles in order to prove payment, the system tracks payments by vehicle registration.
Docklands, London - No Parking at centre (www.justpark.co.uk)
WE MAY TAKE PHOTOS/VIDEOS DURING COURSE IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR IMAGE USED ON SOCIAL MEDIA WEBSITE INSTAGRAM ETC PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LET THE TUTOR KNOW BEFORE LEAVING COURSE.
We provide students with access to our online training area before they attend the school. We find by doing this they are able to complete the theory in their own time and are able to absorb more information. This also means we have more time for practical, which then allows the tutor to demonstrate best practices as well as answer any Q & A’s.
The really depends on what you're looking to do, if you're looking to treat friends, go mobile or run your business from home then we’d recommend a diploma by the Beauty Guild. However, if you were looking to work in a Salon or Spa most would require you to have an NVQ/VRQ qualification.
If you decide on the NVQ/VRQ qualification you'll also be required to attend an additional day for assessment, further to this you'll automatically receive a diploma qualification. More information will be given to you during your practical day at the School. Assessments are only available at Kent or Essex.
The upgrade will cost £158 per treatment for example Manicure £158 Pedicure £158. Cost for other upgrades £220 each for Full Body Massage, Microdermabrasion, Reflexology Eyelash Extensions, Epilation and Facial/Body Electrotherapy, and is available during checkout. NO VRQ Upgrade available for Lash Lifting/ Quick Dip Acrylic/ Defined Brows.
Yes, you’ll have the option to do this. You’ll have to pay the additional fee (see above) for the upgrade, and we’ll then provide you with all the additional material for your NVQ qualification. We’ll then schedule your assessment day at the school.
Most insurance companies will insure you with a Diploma or NVQ certificate. Our specialist insurance scheme through Salonsafe provides tailored cover for our qualified students. The insurance allows our students to gain cover to work on the public, with treatment risk included as standard. Please click here for further information.
It will depend on the circumstances surrounding the cancellation and the notice given(see T&C for more details). In the instance that a refund is requested due to illness, medical notification will be required. Unfortunately, we are unable to give a refund if the online theory has been accessed/completed.
Yes. As well as doing the online theory at your own pace, students will find that by practising at home AFTER you have taken the course, performing approximately 6 -8 treatments, they will achieve more confidence in doing treatments. Free refreshers are offered up to 6 month after course date if you feel you need more training.
We believe in keeping the class sizes small, so students have more one 2 one time with our tutors. Our normal class size is 4 to 8.
Please see below for any course-specific requirements regarding models as some courses DO REQUIRE models.
In most cases, no models are required; students will work on each other for the practical element. However, if you feel more comfortable bringing your own model for the beauty course just let us know in advance via email. Failure to inform us that you are bringing a model could result in your course being cancelled without refund. If the course has an uneven number of students, you may be asked to bring your own model however you will be contacted by admin to discuss this.
Whilst every care is taken when delivering courses to prevent any issues when students are practising treatments however, you must be aware that this is training and that you accept that there may be risk associated with receiving treatments from a student.
No, everything will be provided for you on the course. However, some students find it beneficial to bring a pen and paper to make notes.
