NVQ Level 2 Beauty required before attending this course
At UK Beauty School, we offer our NVQ courses in a structure that saves you a lot of time compared to the Further Education College route and offers a flexible way for students to achieve a more advanced qualification.
The course is blended delivery unit by unit, so you can start as soon as you like by selecting each practical day from courses listed to suit your schedule as you go.
Once package booked you can for example select the next Facial electrotherapy course that suits your schedule and book onto that practical session. Following practical training days, students are given written and practical assignments to be completed at home. When home study for this unit is complete - select next practical day maybe Body Electrical and repeat.
Once all units and home study complete students return to the school for a pre assessment appointment before attending their assessment day. To comply with the rigorous NVQ assessment procedure, it is essential that student provide models to work on during their assessment days.
The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (General) contains the following units:
Monitor procedures to safely control work operations
Monitoring the operation of workplace health and safety procedures is the legal responsibility of all senior staff in a salon, not just that of the manager or proprietor. These responsibilities extend beyond salon staff to all people entering the business, e.g. clients, suppliers, contract cleaners, etc. Therefore, in the context of this unit, ‘other people’ includes not only other employees, but all those who have a reason to be on salon premises at any time. This unit is about making sure that statutory and workplace instructions are being carried out.

For your 1st unit, you will attend the practical day, complete the home study elements (practice diary, case studies and assessments) and then return to the school for your live assessments and paper tests. Once the unit is complete, you will go through the same process for the rest of the units until the qualification is complete. Failure to complete the qualification within 2 years could result in additional assessments fees.

The training for all beauty courses is taken at our Beauty Schools based in:
New Haven, Brighton
We provide students with online access to our training area before they attend the school, we find by doing this they are able to complete the theory in their own time and are able to absorb more information. This also means we have more time for practice, which then allows the tutor demonstrate best practices as well as answer Q & A’s.
It will depend on the circumstances surrounding the cancellation and the notice given(see T&C for more details). In the instance that a refund is requested due to illness, medical notification will be required. Unfortunately, we are unable to give a refund if the online theory has accessed/completed.
Please read our Price Guarantee Terms & Conditions, they can be found here.
As well as doing the online theory at your own pace, students will find that by practising at home AFTER you have taken the course, performing approximately 6 -8 treatments, they will achieve more confidence in doing Waxing Treatments.
No previous experience is required. This course is open to complete beginners, however, before we issue the certificate you must complete your online theory.
We believe in keeping the class sizes small, so students have more one 2 one time with our tutors. Our normal class size is 4 to 8.
No model is required; students will work on each other for the practical element. However, if you feel more comfortable bringing your own model for the beauty course just let us know in advance via email. Failure to inform us that you are bringing a model could result in your course being cancelled without refund. If the course has an uneven number of students, you may be asked to bring your own model however you will be contacted by admin to discuss this.
No, everything will be provided for you on the course. However, some students find it beneficial to bring a pen and paper to make notes.
